FEBRUARY DAYS 2019 – Art & Spirit: the role of the arts today
January 31 - February 3
“We must become artists, not by developing symbolism or allegory, but by rising, through spiritual knowledge, more and more into the spiritual world.” Rudolf Steiner, The arts and their mission, GA 276
From January 31st to February 3rd the theme Art and Spirit will bring us together at the Goetheanum to discuss and explore questions concerning different practices of art and the role it fulfills today.
Where do we find the spiritual in art?
How do art, science and spirituality relate to each other?
Where do we find the artists of today?
Where does the artistic impulse in the human being come from?
What purpose does it serve?
These and many other questions will be at the centre of our lectures, workshops, conversations and other activities that will help us to think about the task of art in the path of knowledge, and how the spiritual aspect of it can be a contributory factor to a real social transformation.
February Days is an annual conference organized by members of the Youth Section to explore questions about Rudolf Steiner’s impulse and its meaning in present times.
