Liebe Idem-Freunde,

Viel Freude mit dem zweiten Newsletter des Jahres. Diesmal hat er etwas mehr Inhalt, und berichtet über einige Anlässe - ein Vortrag von Rajagopal von Ekta Parishad und eine Grundeinkommensinitiative in Sao Paulo.

Aber auch die Workcamps, die in diesem Jahr uns bevorstehen werden kurz vorgestellt. Einige sind noch in der Planungsphase, aber werden mit einiger Wahrscheinlichkeit stattfinden, wenn die Teilnehmer und das Geld zu finden sind.

Drei Menschen, schon lange mit Idem verbunden, sind momentan in Haiti und sind dort mit notfallpädagogischen Massnamen im Rahmen des Programms der Freunde der Erziehungskunst beteiligt. Lukas arbeitet ja mit uns im Büro, und Juliana Hepp und Annie Sauerland sind seit nicht so langer Zeit wieder in Deutschland.

Sehr viel Arbeit von mehreren Menschen steckt hinter dem neuen Rundbrief, und unser neue Flyer für Idem kommt auch demnächst heraus. Die restlichen Nachrichten unten...

Der Rundbrief 2008/09 ist fertig gedruckt, verschickt und verfügbar.

Nach langer Vorbereitung und Planung haben Josias, Lukas, Katha und ihr Team den Newsletter fertiggestellt. Ein helles Gelb mit oranger Schrift, viele spannende Artikel und Inhalte, es erlaubt die Ausgabe einen tiefen Blick in das Idem-Geschehen und in die Vision, die von so vielen verschiedenen Initiatoren getragen wird.

Wir danken sehr für die lange Arbeit der Artikelsammlung, Photoauswahl, Layout, Finanzierungsanträge und allem Anderen, was zu der endgültigen Veröffentlichung geführt hat.

Als eine Gruppe Belgier von Connect 2009 in Dornach heimkehrten, waren sie so begeistert von Idem’s internationalem Netzwerk, dass sie gleich ein Idem Belgien auf die Beine stellten.

Es folgten viele Treffen, bei denen wir uns über unsere Vision und andere uns wichtige Themen austauschten. Wir vertieften unser Verständnis von dem, was uns mit Idem verband und ließen uns Zeit, über unsere Position im internationalen Netzwerk klar zu werden.

So wie Handeln und Reflektieren immer Hand in Hand gehen, sind wir jetzt bereit unsere Ideen und Wünsche umzusetzen.

Idem’s Grundidee "Identity through Initiative" begleitete uns auch bei der Planung eines ersten Actiondays welcher am 27. März 2010 in Gent stattfinden wird.

Wir sind dabei, wie schon im letzten Newsletter angekündigt, die Idem Homepage ganz neu zu fassen. 

Das Menu steht, nun sollen die Inhalte neu durchdacht und verfasst werden. Wir würden sehr gerne diese Seite mit allen zusammen gestalten und jeder ist herzlich eingeladen, sich im neuen Connectivity Forum zu registrieren und um sich dort mit anderen über die Idem-Vision und die zukünftige Gestaltung der Webseite auszutauschen.

Momentan stehen 5 Workcamps fest und es ist möglich sich jetzt dazu anzumelden bereit, drei davon haben noch kein fixes Datum.
Vier weitere Workcamps sind in der Organisations-Phase, so dass es bald soweit ist, dass man sich dazu anmelden kann.

 

Anträge bei Jugendhilft für Projekte im Sommer sollten bis zum 28.Februar bei ihnen eintreffen. Also, für alle die ein Workcamp vorbereiten, bitte so schnell wie möglich das Budget fertigstellen und mit uns Kontakt aufnehmen.

 

David Masuch leitet zwei verschiedene Projekte in Südafrika mit einer Schülergruppe aus Nordrhein-Westfalen in Deutschland. Sie verbringen zunächst zwei Wochen in Vulumasango in Kapstadt (dort ist für 2011 ein Workcamp in Planung) und anschließend, nach einer Reisewoche, viereinhalb weitere in Bonintwentle, Mount Frere.

Wer mehr über das Schulworkcamp-Projekt erfahren möchte oder die Erfahrungen und Arbeiten vor Ort verfolgen möchte kann das hier tun.

 

Dieses Projekt findet auf einem biodynamischen Bauernhof, im Gebiet der wunderschönen Westküste Irlands statt, verankert in traditioneller Irischer Kultur und dem Feakle Folk Festival das um die selbe Zeit sein wird.

Es wird wieder eine Gruppe zu Erasto Luanda gehen um den Bau des Esssaals fertig zu stellen. Fiorina und Luzius Brotbeck werden das Projekt organisieren, dieses Mal aber mit der Hilfe von Steinschleuder e.V., die mit einer eigenen Gruppe dazu stoßen werden.

Schon seit einiger Zeit wird ein Haus für den anthroposophischen Verein in Craiova gebaut. Zusammen mit der Jugend Sektion des Goetheanum wird eine Gruppe zusammengestellt die Ende Jahr in der Endphase helfen kann.

Im 2009 hat ein Workcamp auf einem biodynamischen Bauernhof und Gemeinde stattgefunden wo unter anderem Heilpflanzen gesät wurden. Organisiert vbon Jakob Kraul, kam die Gruppe hauptsächlich aus Rengoldshausen am Bodensee.

Dieses Jahr hat eine der Teilnehmer Anna Lukowsky die Planung eines nächsten Workcamps übernommen. Die Daten stehen noch nicht fest.

Zu der Workcampsbeschreibung von 2009

 

Letztes Jahr wurde ein Jugendzentrum mit einem Internetcafe, Informationswand, und Bibliothek für die Gemeinde eingerichtet. Dieses Jahr hat die Gruppe sich entschieden wieder mit anzupacken. Wir helfen den Organisatoren mit Geschäftsideen und andere Initiativen vorwärts zu bringen um die Gemeinde zu fördern. Die Daten und Einsatzmöglichkeiten werden bald zur Verfügung stehen.

Das Gebäude Sacolao des Artes, wurde der Theatergruppe Brava Companhia, die vorwiegend Straßentheater in den ärmsten Gebieten in Sao Paulo gemacht haben, zur Gründung einer Theaterschule zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir helfen mit den Renovierungen und den Vorbereitungen um einen Proberaum für Workshops zu eröffnen.

Diese Gemeinschaftsinitiative in Khayelitsha, des größten Townships in Kapstadt, hat mehrere Zweige. Sie haben verschiedene kleine Gemeinschaftsgärten und unterstützen Nachbarn dabei eigene Gärten anzulegen. Sie haben eine Jugendgruppe und ein Theater für Jugendliche, sowie eine Suppenküche und noch andere Aktivitäten. Im Rahmen des Workcamps soll ein Proberaum gebaut werden der auch kleinere Aufführungen ermöglicht.

Mehr zu diesem Projekt wird bald auf unserer Website zur Verfügung stehen. Die Daten stehen noch nicht, aber es wird vermutlich im Oktober 2010 stattfinden.

 

Im Anschluss an die Hochzeit von Martin Fogelquist und Fabia Idoeta besteht die Möglichkeit im Juli-August nochmals ein Workcamp in Aramitan, Sao Paolo zu organisieren. All jene die zur Hochzeit kommen und nachher in einer großartigen Gruppe etwas bedeutungsvolles unternehmen wollen sind herzlich dazu eingeladen, bevor wir dieses Workcamp öffentlich zugänglich machen. Die Daten müssen noch mit den Organisatoren von Aramitan abgestimmt werden.

 

Unsere Freunde von captura haben einen tollen Ort geschaffen, an dem sie schon der unmittelbaren Gemeinde aber auch einem größeren Netzwerk dienen. In ihrem "Schloss" in der wunderschönen Landschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns widmen sie sich den konkreten Menschen und allen menschlich sozialen Fragen die sich in einer offenen nicht strukturvorbestimmten Begegnung ergeben.

Wir würden sehr gerne mitwirken in dem Prozess und die Idee wäre zum Beispiel das Gewächshaus wieder in Form zu bringen. Die Idee ist es auch hier noch mehr darauf zu setzen vor Ort zu schauen, was zu tun ist und die Zeit intensiv zu nutzen, um sowohl praktisch gemeinsam zu arbeiten als auch die Zeit als offenen Begegnungsraum mit IDEM verbundenen Menschen zu haben.

Vermutlich wird dies im Sommer stattfinden. Die Details zu der Initiative werden bald auf unserer Homepage zu finden sein.

FOCUS will be much more than a conference – more than a space to meet and listen to lectures. We will not simply talk about our ideas and themes, but will instead try to find ways of realising and practicing them in our daily lives – in our tasks in the world.

Focus will take its start where other conferences end. From the beginning we will have the opportunity to dive right into our burning topics and themes, and of developing the necessary insight and skills to carry these themes further. At the same time, Focus is also a space for those who wish to get an overview of what is living within the network as a whole.

Seit Oktober 2008 findet in Quantiga Velho in Brasilien, einer ländlichen Gemeinschaft bei Sao Paulo, ein erstaunliches Projekt statt. Die kleine Nichtregierungsorganisation ReCivitas zahlt seit 16 Monaten monatlich ein Grundeinkommen aus. Zwei Koordinatoren des Projektes, die 28 jährige Bruna Augusto Pereira und der 33 jährige Marcus Vinicius Brancaglione dos Santos sind derzeit auf Europa-Reise und berichten von den Erfolgen ihrer Arbeit.

This is our second Newsletter of the year – enjoy!

There is a little more content, reports of events like a lecture of Rajagopal, the founder of Ekta Parishad and a fascinating initiative based on the Unconditional Basic Income in Brazil.

Also, this years Workcamps will be introduced. Some are still in planning but will most likely come about if the members and money can be raised.

Three people with a long association with us are at present in Haiiti doing emergency pedagogical work with victims of the earthquake, with the program of the Freunde der Erziehungskunst. Lukas Mall works in our office and Annie Sauerland and Juliana Hepp have been back in Germany for some months now.

A lot of work by a number of people has gone into our annual report, which is now available in German and a new flyer - this time also in English - is about to go into print.

New developments on Connectivity and on the new Idem Homepage that is now under construction will be reported in the following newsletter.

Our Annual Report 2008/09 is printed and sent out.

After long preparation and planning, Josias, Lukas, Katha, Jelena and many others have completed the newsletter. A light, pale yellow with orange writing on the cover, and many pages of compelling articles and pictures, the publication allows one deep insight into the Idem sphere of activities and the vision carried by the different initiative takers.

When some young Belgians came back from Connect 2009 in Dornach, where they came in touch with the International Idem Network, they were so enthousiast that it didn`t take long before an Idem group in Belgium got started.

A lot of meetings followed where we tried to shape our own vision and where exchange took place in different forms and around different kinds of themes. We took our time to find out what it is that attracts us in Idem and how we, as group in Belgium, want to take place in the bigger picture.

Now it`s time to give rise to outer actions of this inner ideas and wishes, in a way that action and reflection walk hand in hand.
Carying strongly the idea of identity through initiative, we are giving birth to the first Actionday that will take place in Gent on the 27^th of March 2010.

At the moment we are working on a new Idem website, for which we are rewriting all the information that is available on the old one.
The main menu is there, now we just have to fill it with content! We would love to shape this homepage together with everyone who feels like writing something. Therefore we want to invite you to send us suggestions, writings, drawings,... everything what you think should be there!

So far there are 5 workcamps fixed for 2010 and open for registration, though in the case of 3 of these, the final dates have not yet been determined. There are 4 others still being organised, which should be made available for registration shortly.

 

Requests for “Jugendhilft” for the summer should be sent in by the 28^th of February. So, for all of you who are planning a Workcamp, please determine the budget as soon as possible and contact us with that information.

 

David Masuch is leading a group of high school students from Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany to work in two different projects in South Africa. They will spend two weeks at Vulumasango in Cape Town, and theafter, four more weeks in Bonintwentle, Mount Frere.

This project is on the farm that is being developed as the Glendree Biodynamic Centre in Ireland, in a beautiful setting on the west coast, steeped in traditional culture and with the Feakle Folk Festival taking place nearby during this time.

Once again a group is going to the school of Erasto Luanda to hopefully complete the dining hall we have been building there for the last 3 years. Fiorina and Luzius Brotbeck are organising the project, but this time working together with Steinschleuder, who are joining them with a group from their own organisation.

A house for the work of the Anthroposophical Society in Craiova has been under construction for some time and is awaiting completion. A group is being gathered together by people working with the YouthSection at the Goetheanum, to go there later this year.

A Workcamp took place in 2009 at this biodynamic farm and village community, where they are growing medicinal plants and manufacturing remedies. The group came largely from a school in Rengoldshausen on the Lake Constance and was organised by Jakob Kraul.

This year one of the participants, Anna Lukowsky, has taken on to organise a workcamp there for this year. Dates have to be finalised.

Project 2009

 

Last year a youth centre consisting of an internet café, news wall, library and some other facilities needed by the local young people was set up. This year the group has decided to go back to undertake some further work and we are helping the organisers of these village projects to set up business and other initiatives that will help develop their communities.

The Sacolao das Artes is a building that has been made available to the theatre company Brava Companhia, who have been doing street theatre in the poorer regions of Sao Paulo for many years, to set up a theatre school. We are helping to renovate and set up the place so that workshops and rehearsals can take place there.

This initiative in Khayelitsha, the largest township in Cape Town, is a community project with several branches. They have a small community garden and are guiding many people in the neighbourhood in establishing and running their own food gardens. They have a youth group and a theatre group for young people in the area, as well as a soup kitchen and other activities. We are in the process of organising to build a small hall together with them where rehearsals and local performances can take place.

More about this project will appear on the website shortly. Dates are not fixed yet, but will be around October 2010.

 

There is an initiative to organise another workcamp at Aramitan, Sao Paulo this coming July/August, following on the wedding of Martin Fogelquist to Fabia Idoeta, which will take place in the middle of July. All those interested in going to this wedding and afterwards doing something meaningful with a great group of people is welcome to join before we open the camp for public participation. Dates to be finalised with the people from Aramitan.

 

Our friends from Captura have a wonderful place that is already reaching out and doing a lot of good both within its small village community and for the larger network around. Their concerns with an education for life, a lifetime of education and other tenets of what they have developed over the last years continue to take on form in the very real castle, manor house and grounds that they are occupying. We should very much like to help and become involved in this process and the idea would be to take on a project like the greenhouse that needs almost complete overhauling.

We are looking at a date in the summer and the initiative should appear on our homepage shortly.

A Project based on the Unconditional Basic Income in Brazil

In October 2008 an extraordinary project was launched in Quantiga Velho in Brasil, the countryside near Sao Paolo: The non-governmental organization ReCivitas has begun paying a basic income to every member of the community. Bruna Augusto Pereira (28) and Marcus Vinicius Brancaglione (33), two of the main coordinators of the project have now come to Europe to report of their success.

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” M. Gandhi

R. V. Rajagopal gave a lecture at the Christian Community in Basel expressing his views on Gandhi’s principles of non-violent action, and the predicament facing landless farmers in India. In 2007 Ekta Parishad, which was founded by him, organized a massive movement of 25,000 people, 350 km to the capital Delhi called Janadesh, -Verdict of the People.
