Biodynamics at Emerson

The Biodynamic Agriculture Association has agreed to take over the Biodynamic Training Courses from Emerson College, UK.

This is amazing news - this means that it is very likely that we will be able to run the Biodynamic Organic Agriculture Training and the Biodynamic Organic Horticulture Training as planned this September.

What we are now working on, is to secure a building where we can teach the courses - and at the moment we are in serious conversation with Tablehurst Farm - nextdoor to Emerson College.

Tablehurst Farm is a community supported biodynamic farm, comprising of 500 acres of land with arable, horticulture, beef, sheep, pigs and chickens. To learn more about Tablehurst Farm, look at http://www.tablehurstandplawhatch.co.uk

It is also still possible that the Emerson College campus will be available next academic year, and we are keeping a close eye on the developments, which are moving faster than I can keep track of...

Graduation Ceremony
All the first year students have now gone on placement, to various farms, from Prince Charles' Duchy Home Farm to farms in Scotland, Norway, Italy and even Nepal! We wish them a great summer full of exciting work and we are looking forward to them coming back in September.

The second year students all got their qualifications last week, and most have already found employment on farms and market gardens. It was a wonderful graduation ceremony and a delicious barbeque with dancing until 3 in the night afterwards...

Lots of interest in our courses for next year

We are receiving inquiries every day for the Biodynamic Organic Agriculture Training and the Biodynamic Organic Horticulture Training starting in September this year - people are increasingly interested in growing organic and biodynamic food, and working with animals in a dignified way. We have already received 15 applications, which is much more than at this time in the previous years!

Please help spreading the word - if you know of young people who would like to make a change in te world - who would like to work actively on local food production, combating climate change - or generally need a good dose of empowerment: nothing feels so good as growing your own food, being responsible and caring for animals, or even running your own market garden or small farm... Many of our students gain so much confidence in themselves and in life and the world - it is that which makes this course so incredibly worthwhile for me as the course leader.
