Waldorf One World: ein Tag für weltweite Brüderlichkeit. Konkret. Kreativ. Gemeinsam. September 29, 2009.

 

Wie der Titel „Waldorf One World“ vermuten lässt, geht es um „Waldorf“. Und das weltweit. Weltweit? Genau das ist es. Inzwischen ist das nämlich keine kleine, nette Schulbewe-gung aus Deutschland mehr, sondern es gibt mehr als 1000 Waldorfschulen weltweit und noch deutlich mehr waldorfpädagogisch arbeitende Einrichtungen. Dagegen sind wir in Deutschland mit 213 Schulen gar nicht mal mehr so viele. Zum anderen ist „Waldorf“ auch nicht mehr neu, wir feiern dieses Jahr 90 Jahre Waldorfpädagogik.

„Iss deinen Teller leer, die Kinder in Afrika würden sich darüber freuen“. Wer hier die Au-gen verdreht, hat nicht ganz unrecht, denn es geht in Afrika niemandem besser, wenn hier ein Teller vertilgt wird. Eigentlich wollen gutmeinende Mütter und andere damit ja auch et-was ganz anderes ausdrücken, sie wollen eine Wertschätzung sehen dafür, dass man et-was Essen darf, während andere verhungern.

Die weltweite Waldorfbewegung arbeitet zum Teil unter schwierigsten Bedingungen in heute mehr als 60 Ländern auf allen Kontinenten. Wie man sich denken kann, gibt es da auch Einrichtungen, die ums Überleben kämpfen, denen es an allem fehlt.

Genau diese Schulen und Einrichtungen sollen am Aktionstag „Waldorf One World“ unter-stützt werden! Dies ist nun der Aufruf an Euch, an diesem Tag etwas zu tun. Kreativität ist also gefragt, jede Klasse kann etwas anderes machen, vom Kuchenverkauf über ein Be-nefizkonzert bis zum Spendenmarathon! Die Spenden werden von der Organisation „Freunde der Erziehungskunst“ zu 100% an die Partner in aller Welt weitergeleitet, nicht ein Cent geht dabei verloren.

Veranstaltet wird der WOW-Day von den Freunden der Erziehungskunst und dem Bund der Freien Waldorfschulen.

Im Jahr 2004 haben schon 112 Schulen mitgemacht, insgesamt haben sie damit mehr als 356.000 Euro gesammelt.

Waldorf One World – a day for worldwide Brotherliness.

As some of you may have guessed from the title “Waldorf One World,” yes it is about Waldorf. And world wide? Exactly that is it. In the mean time it is no longer the sweet little school movement from Germany any more! There are more than 1000 Waldorf Schools worldwide and even more institutions working on Waldorf educational principles. In contrast, Germany’s 213 Waldorf Schools are not that many. On the other hand “Waldorf” is no longer new; this year we will be celebrating 90 years of Waldorf Education.

“Empty your plate when eating, the children in Africa would be glad for a meal.” For those of you who are rolling your eyes, you are right, it does not makes things better for anyone in Africa if a plate of food here in Germany is devoured or not. The real fact is that our mothers and other well meaning adults only wish to express something else. They only wish to see appreciation for the fact that we have food although others go hungry.

The worldwide Waldorf movement is partly working under difficult conditions in more than 60 countries on all continents. As you may be able to guess, there are some institutions that have to fight for survival, that have nothing at all.

Exactly these schools and institutions should be supported on Action day “Waldorf One World.” This is a call to all of you, to undertake something on this day. Creativity is needed; each class could do something else: cake sales, benefit concerts and even sponsored marathons! 100% of all donations go through “The Friends of Waldorf Education” to the partners all over the world, not a single cent goes lost.

The WOW-Day event is hosted by “The Friends of Waldorf Education” and the “Federation of Waldorf Schools in Germany.”

In 2004, 112 schools participated in this event, they jointly raised a total amount of 356,000 Euro.
