WELCOME ~ yôkoso ~ Willkommen ~ Bien Venue ~ ahlan wa sahlan ~ dobrodošli ~ ยินดีต้อนรับ ~ tervetuloa ~ Шчыра запрашаем ~ swagata ~to the Youthsection - eNEWS January 2011
IntroductionDear friends of the 'youthsection' I am very happy to introduce you to the january 2011 edition of the YS eNews. Thanks so much to all the people in the last 10 years who have put them together, wrote articles, a special thanks to Jesse and Matthias for creating the outlet and website back then. So now I am following this "editer" legacy, trying to bridge the time until a new person shows up from the new youthsection team that will emerge this year (I am sure it will ;-) and takes over. I am a "bridger" "pioneer" "enthusiast" ..., my name is Juliana and was linked with the youthsection in 2001 when Elizabeth took over. I am humbled to be part of once again another passing-on to come. This issue is highlighting german initiatives and conferences / projects, so you will find some articles just in german, for only english speakers you will find a small synopsis of the content in english and lots of other great stuff in english too. Please pay attention to the invitation from Argentinia ;-) (Its not my mother tongue - so please forgive me any spelling and grammar mistakes :-) Enjoy !
Viel Spass

Definition: Youthsection~ The section for the spiritual striving of youth ~What is the Youthsection for you?Silvia: For me the youth section is like a carefully crafted clay pot, sculptured by the people from the past. It is filled with (bio-dynamic) filterlised potting mix which contains many different types of wild flower seeds. We are each the different grains of soil - alone we cannot grow the seeds but together we can bring incredible things to bloom. please send me some of your definitions. juliana@youthsection.org Thanks
MANIFESTO OF GAZA YOUTH FOR CHANGE![]()
GAZAN YOUTH’S MANIFESTO FOR CHANGE Fuck Israel. Fuck Hamas. Fuck Fatah. Fuck UN. Fuck UNWRA. Fuck USA! We, the youth in Gaza, are so fed up with Israel, Hamas, the occupation, the violations of human rights and the indifference of the international community! We want to scream and break this wall of silence, injustice and indifference like the Israeli F16’s breaking the wall of sound; scream with all the power in our souls in order to release this immense frustration that consumes us because of this fucking situation we live in; we are like lice between two nails living a nightmare inside a nightmare, no room for hope, no space for freedom. We are sick of being caught in this political struggle; sick of coal dark nights with airplanes circling above our homes; sick of innocent farmers getting shot in the buffer zone because they are taking care of their lands; sick of bearded guys walking around with their guns abusing their power, beating up or incarcerating young people demonstrating for what they believe in; sick of the wall of shame that separates us from the rest of our country and keeps us imprisoned in a stamp-sized piece of land; sick of being portrayed as terrorists, homemade fanatics with explosives in our pockets and evil in our eyes; sick of the indifference we meet from the international community, the so-called experts in expressing concerns and drafting resolutions but cowards in enforcing anything they agree on; we are sick and tired of living a shitty life, being kept in jail by Israel, beaten up by Hamas and completely ignored by the rest of the world. There is a revolution growing inside of us, an immense dissatisfaction and frustration that will destroy us unless we find a way of canalizing this energy into something that can challenge the status quo and give us some kind of hope. The final drop that made our hearts tremble with frustration and hopelessness happened 30rd November, when Hamas’ officers came to Sharek Youth Forum, a leading youth organization (www.sharek.ps) with their guns, lies and aggressiveness, throwing everybody outside, incarcerating some and prohibiting Sharek from working. A few days later, demonstrators in front of Sharek were beaten and some incarcerated. We are really living a nightmare inside a nightmare. It is difficult to find words for the pressure we are under. We barely survived the Operation Cast Lead, where Israel very effectively bombed the shit out of us, destroying thousands of homes and even more lives and dreams. They did not get rid of Hamas, as they intended, but they sure scared us forever and distributed post traumatic stress syndrome to everybody, as there was nowhere to run.
We are youth with heavy hearts. We carry in ourselves a heaviness so immense that it makes it difficult to us to enjoy the sunset. How to enjoy it when dark clouds paint the horizon and bleak memories run past our eyes every time we close them? We smile in order to hide the pain. We laugh in order to forget the war. We hope in order not to commit suicide here and now. During the war we got the unmistakable feeling that Israel wanted to erase us from the face of the earth. During the last years Hamas has been doing all they can to control our thoughts, behaviour and aspirations. We are a generation of young people used to face missiles, carrying what seems to be a impossible mission of living a normal and healthy life, and only barely tolerated by a massive organization that has spread in our society as a malicious cancer disease, causing mayhem and effectively killing all living cells, thoughts and dreams on its way as well as paralyzing people with its terror regime. Not to mention the prison we live in, a prison sustained by a so-called democratic country.
History is repeating itself in its most cruel way and nobody seems to care. We are scared. Here in Gaza we are scared of being incarcerated, interrogated, hit, tortured, bombed, killed. We are afraid of living, because every single step we take has to be considered and well-thought, there are limitations everywhere, we cannot move as we want, say what we want, do what we want, sometimes we even cant think what we want because the occupation has occupied our brains and hearts so terrible that it hurts and it makes us want to shed endless tears of frustration and rage!
We do not want to hate, we do not want to feel all of this feelings, we do not want to be victims anymore. ENOUGH! Enough pain, enough tears, enough suffering, enough control, limitations, unjust justifications, terror, torture, excuses, bombings, sleepless nights, dead civilians, black memories, bleak future, heart aching present, disturbed politics, fanatic politicians, religious bullshit, enough incarceration! WE SAY STOP! This is not the future we want!
We want three things. We want to be free. We want to be able to live a normal life. We want peace. Is that too much to ask? We are a peace movement consistent of young people in Gaza and supporters elsewhere that will not rest until the truth about Gaza is known by everybody in this whole world and in such a degree that no more silent consent or loud indifference will be accepted.
This is the Gazan youth’s manifesto for change!
We will start by destroying the occupation that surrounds ourselves, we will break free from this mental incarceration and regain our dignity and self respect. We will carry our heads high even though we will face resistance. We will work day and night in order to change these miserable conditions we are living under. We will build dreams where we meet walls.
We only hope that you – yes, you reading this statement right now! – can support us. In order to find out how, please write on our wall or contact us directly: freegazayouthhotmailcom
We want to be free, we want to live, we want peace. FREE GAZA YOUTH! GYBO December, 2010
Anthroposophical Society!? WORKING MEETINGIn the last YS eNews issue Dawn Nilo nailed it. Regarding the current stand of the Anthroposophical Society (AAG = Allgemeine Anthroposophische Gesellschaft) she put the question from Parzival out towards the AAG: ‘What ails thee and how may I help?’ In January 2nd- 9th 2011 about 15-20 people were meeting to work and deepen questions of the Anthroposophical Society. Questions are like: what is the being and task of the Anthroposphia? What is the task, meaning and aim of its society today? Based on this, which alive forms needs the society develop into? Most of the report is in german, with a great summary of the event from Jordan and here a few of the most important questions formulated by Eric and Kirsten in English: Eric: My question after the meeting with Bodo von Plato was that it appeared to me that he had a very thorough grasp of the situation of Anthroposophy in the world today, and also of the need for the Goetheanum to change the way it operates to meet this situation, namely to transform from being the centre from which things streamed out into the world, to being one of a large number of projects, each of which are centres in themselves, and to become the place where the periphery comes together, to be part of everyone's periphery. So I should like to hear of concrete initiatives and steps in making this new picture a reality. Kirsten: Why should we do / live Anthroposophy without the anthroposophical society?

Victoria & Jordan - welcome in Dornach![]() Victoria Sander and Jordan Walker have arrived in Dornach from Spring Valley, NY to live and work at the Goetheanum with six month research stipendiums. Victoria has her stipendium with the Performing Arts Section where she will be interviewing many of the oldest living Eurythmists as she researches Stiener's eurythmy indications in Goethe's Faust that have yet to find there way into print. Jordan is at the Youth Section exploring the question: How might new forms of anthroposophical adult education help create an expanded, global, wisdom culture? Though he's just beginning his research, he has already identified a couple of areas that he could use some help with: - I am conducting dialogue interviews with as varied a group of people as possible. These conversations survey past and current experiences with higher education (both within and outside the anthroposophical movement). I'd also like to hear what people are holding as a picture of an ideal for their own continuing education. -I've begun to think about creating an interactive map documenting what "new form" educational initiatives are currently out there. I'd love contributions to a working list of wisdom holders, independent students, innovative initiatives and learning communities that make up this emerging international network. If you'd like to contribute to either aspect or have your own idea about how we might collaborate, please get in touch: Jordannewformsprojectorg "

Youthsection in the futureINVITATION - let's meet in Argentinia this july :-) Dear Youth Section: The porpouse of this email is to tell you who we are and what we are doing, so let’s start: We are from Brazil and Argentina, members of the youth section of each country, Brazil worked a lot during 2009 and the period of the current year. Last year in Brazil in November there was a Youth Conference called Ligaçao Jovem, where the link between Argentina and Brazil started. In April of this year there was a conference Called Triskel, Crecimiento y Evolucion, and this time it was in Argentina, where the Youth Section of this country began to work, people from Brazil came, and that made the relationship between both countries grow stronger. Now, we are starting to think of a new kind of conference, the desire is to bring together all the Youth Sections in the world, the porpuse is mainly to meet each other, for you to show us what you are doing in your country and it will be also a sort of farewell to Elizabeth Wirsching the leader of the Youth Section in Dornach, who’s leaving her activities as such, but we can't do it alone, so we ask everyone out there working for a youth section to help us, the conference is going to be made for and by everyone. This conference, will happen in July 2011, in South America, in Argentina. We are sending this invitation so soon, for you to start thinking about the trip you’ll have to do if you really want to come, we know that many of you are far from South America, but it will be a pleasure to have all of you in our countries, so we hope to see you in July. Best regards The Youth Sections from Argentina and Brazil (From: tobias bonfiglio <bonfigliotobiashotmailcom> Date: December 22, 2010 3:13:00 AM GMT+01:00)
Portraits![]() I have met many great people in the last 10 years in Dornach in connection with the Youthsection. I would like to introduce some here:
~ MARTIN works in the youthsection since september 2008 office tasks: book keeping, connection to the Goetheanum via Sectionconference and weekly goetheanums Co-worker meeting, contact for the german speaking world (guiding tours, conversations...), office presence in the past mainly on tuesdays (answering the phone, opening + answering letters, receiving money, helping with computers in the internet cafe, conversations... ) and own projects (2 conferences in the context of the mystery drama, Group meetings with the topic of "how to achieve knowledge of higher worlds?" in Dornach and Romania, workshops with the same theme at different conferences, meetings at the seasonal festivals, research with german speaking people on the original impulse of the youthsection, AAG) what he is enthusiastic about: "... Was war damit intendiert?
